Act 1: I’ll Do It
Scene 1: Reila’s Room
NARRATOR (To audience): Reila’s reason for crying now is because her parents are getting a divorce. Her parents weren’t getting along for the last couple of months. Her father is going to force her to live with him. Leaving her twin siblings and her mom. Reila really despises him, so she doesn’t wants to go with him. Let us see how it turns out.
REILA (Sobbing): I don’t want t… (Sob) go with (Sob) daddy. (Mom comes in)
MOM (Gentle voice): Honey, it’ll be okay. You can visit me every weekend.
REILA (Cries loudly): But I don’t want to go with daddy!
MOM (Hugging Reila): I know honey, I know.
REILA (Calms down a little): Leave me alone.
MOM (Gentle voice): Okay, honey. (Mom leaves)
(Silence but with sobs)
(Twins comes in)
SELIA (Nicely): You okay?
REILA (With no effort): No.
ETHEN (Gentle voice): Reila, we know it’s hard on you, so we want to help you.
REILA (Snaps): What do you know!? You’re not going through this! Why is it me!? (Gets teary then cries)
(Twins look at each other with evil expressions then hugs Reila)
NARRATOR (Hands together): The twins have a plan.
SELIA (Comforting voice): Reila, if you don’t want to go then tell dad that.
REILA (Loudly): But what if he doesn’t listen!
ETHEN (Let’s go of Reila then hesitates): Then ….shoot him. (Selia let’s go of Reila)
REILA (Surprised): What!? I can’t do that. Why are you telling me this?
SELIA (Crying): But we want to be with our little sister. We love, Reila, very much.
ETHEN (Hugs Reila): We don’t want to be separated from Reila.
SELIA (Hugs Reila): It’s true.
REILA (Hesitates): Um….okay I’ll do it.
ETHEN (Softly): We’ll get the signature okay. (Goes to the door with Selia)
REILA (Softly): Okay. (Twins leave)
NARRATOR (To audience): The twin’s plan seems to be going well.
Scene 2: Living Room
ETHEN (Happily): Here you go. (Hands Reila the signature and money)
REILA (Shocked): Why are you smiling? Do you actually want this?
ETHEN (Looks away): Of course not, but someone’s got to act cheerful. Anyways you should be safe, mom and dad are at work.
REILA (Nodding): Okay, but where’s Selia?
ETHEN (Still looking away): She had some stuff to do.
REILA (Nodding): Okay I guess, bye then. (Leaves)
Scene 3: Store
REILA (Walks in): Hello.
CLERK (Writing): Welcome. What do you need?
REILA (Smiling): I need your cheapest gun.
CLERK (Looks at Reila): Miss, how old are you?
REILA (Formally): I’m fourteen, sir.
CLERK (Looks at Reila with one eye): You got what you need.
REILA (Handing the signature and money): Yes, sir.
CLERK (Takes it): Okay, here’s the cheapest gun, also your change.
REILA (Smiles): You can keep it. (Clerk nods) Thank you. (Leaves)
NARRATOR (Tilts head): Reila couldn’t believe she made through it.
Scene 4: Reila’s Room
REILA (To self): I got it now, so what do I do? Should I keep it in my back pocket? (Twins come in)
SELIA (To Reila): Are you going to do it tonight? (Reila nods) Then you have my luck.
ETHEN (Fist up): You have mine’s too.
REILA (Smiling): Thank you?
SELIA (To Reila): Still hesitating? (Reila nods) I understand. (Reila nods and the twins leave the room)
NARRATOR (Questioning face): What’s going to happen?
ACT 2: Death
Scene 1: Dad’s Room
REILA (Comes in): Daddy, can I speak with you?
DAD (Angry): What is it?
REILA (Looks at dad right in the eyes): Can I stay with mom? Please daddy.
DAD (Sadly): Reila, but your mother is…gone.
REILA (Freaking out): Gone!? How can she be gone? I just saw her yesterday.
DAD (Shaking his head): She died at work today. Her funeral is next week.
REILA (Shouting): You work with her! What did you do!?
DAD (Walks closer to Reila): Reila, what wou…. (Reila pulls out the gun) Reila, put that down.
REILA (Crying): What did you do?
DAD (Tries to stay calm): Reila, calm down and put the gun down. I’ll explain everything. (Reila lowers the gun and dad hugs her)
REIlA (Screaming): NOO!!! (Shoots dad)
NARRATOR (Shaking head slowly): a time has stopped.
REILA (Shaking dad’s body while crying): Dad….daddy….daddy wake up. Daddy! (Sobs)
(Twins barge in)
SELIA (Shocked): Reila, you actually shot him.
ETHEN (Checking dad’s body): The police will be coming soon, ‘cause of the gun fire. We need to hide dad and I’ll take the gun.
REILA (Crying): I’m sorry, I’m sorry. (Hands the gun to Ethen)
SELIA (Hugging Reila): It’s okay, Reila….Reila we just remembered we promised to go to our friends house tonight. We can’t break promises, sorry.
REILA (No effort): I can do this myself.
ETHEN (Smiles weakly): Okay.
Scene 2: Living Room
(Policeman knocks on the door)
REILA (Shouting): Coming! (Opens the door)
POLICEMAN (Formally): Ma’am I heard a gun fire. Is everything alright?
REILA (Innocent look): Yes, sir.
POLICEMAN (Tries to keep irritation inside): Can you tell me what happen ma’am?
REILA (Nods): Yes, sir. My daddy bought a gun for safety reasons and he accidentally fired it at the wall.
POLICEMAN (Looks at Reila suspiciously): Proof, ma’am.
REILA (To policeman): Daddy isn’t home.
POLICEMAN (Nods): Go on.
REILA (To policeman): The gun’s here.
POLICEMAN (Nods): Do you want to get arrested?
REILA (Shakes her head): No.
POLICEMAN (Angry): Then give me an acceptable proof!
REILA (Nods): The car isn’t here. (Policeman looks outside)
POLICEMAN (Nods): That’s acceptable. I’ll be going then. Tell your dad to be more careful.
REILA (Smiles): Okay. (Policeman leaves)
Scene 3: Living Room
(On knees and covering face)
REILA (Crying): Why? Why does it hurt? Is it because I’m guilty? I miss mommy and daddy! (Continues to cry)
(Twins comes in)
ETHEN (Smiles): What’s wrong Reila?
SELIA (Smiles): Hey, I’ll let you know something, Reila. I was the one who killed mom.
ETHEN (Frowns): Though I wanted to do it.
NARRATOR (Gasps): The truth has been told.
REILA (Shocked): Why? Why did you do it!?
TWINS (Happy): You don’t need to know. After all it’s your turn now. (Ethen pulls out the gun and shoots Reila)
REILA (Weakly): It….hurts.
NARRATOR (Sadly): Another time has stopped.
ETHEN (Smirks): Shut up you stupid narrator. (Twins walk up to narrator)
SELIA (To Ethen): May I do the honors?
ETHEN (Smiles): You may. (Pass the gun)
SELIA (Smirks): Say good night, stupid narrator.
NARRATOR (Begs): Please don’t hurt me, ple….
ETHEN (To Selia): So who’s next?
SELIA (Smiles): I know….
TWINS (To audience): YOU!
